IATF 16949 – Certification for Automotive Quality Management Systems IATF 16949:2016 is a companion quality management system (QMS) standard written in conjunction with ISO 9001:2015. IATF 16949 is the automotive industry’s most widely used international standard for quality management. IATF 16949:2016 identifies the requirements for organizations that are involved in the automotive supply chain. IATF 16949 follows a process approach to manufacturing/supplying quality products and services. It references ISO 9001:2015 throughout the standard so if you already have ISO 9001:2015 certification, you are on your way to achieving IATF 16949:2016 certification.
